IDRISI is the industry leader in raster analytical functionality, covering the full spectrum of GIS and remote sensing needs from database query, to spatial modeling, to image enhancement and classification. Special facilities are included for environmental monitoring and natural resources management, including land change modeling and time series analysis, multi-criteria and multi-objective decision support, uncertainty and risk analysis, simulation modeling, surface interpolation and statistical characterization.
The latest version Idrisi 16 Taiga includes these unique tools:
Land Change Modeler – for the analysis and prediction of land cover change and its imact on habitat and biodiversity
Earth Trends Modeler – geospatial software application for the analysis of image time series. A suite of data mining tools are included for the extraction of trends and underlying determinants of variability.
Clark Labs was funded in 1987 by Ron Eastman, as the IDRISI Project. Today, the organization is a research center within the University’s George Perkins Marsh Institute at Clark University, Massachusetts, USA.
Idrisi Resource Centers (IRC) is a program established in 1995 as a better support to Idrisi users around the World. Mendel University in Brno together with Technical University in Zvolen (Slovakia) forms one of the nineteen IRCs.
10th meeting of Idrisi users in Czech and Slovak Republic is prepared and will take place on Friday 3rd April 2009 at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno.
